Captain promoted to lieutenant colonel

Hardworking Capt Tintswalo Mathonsi from the Vosloorus Police Station was promoted on December 11.

Mathonsi, now a lieutenant colonel, previously worked in the human resources department, but now heads the department.

She said she started working for the police force in 2001 in Johannesburg.

“I asked for a transfer because Vosloorus is close to my family,” said Mathonsi.

Mathonsi said she is very happy about her promotion and promised to continue to work hard.

“I am happy and motivated. It shows that management is taking good care of the employees,” Mathonsi said.

Communications officer at Vosloorus Police Station Capt Piet Rossouw said Mathonsi is a people’s person.

“She is most loved by the people she leads in her department. They all praise her for taking care of them,” said Rossouw.

Rossouw said management followed the right procedure in promoting Mathonsi.

“She acted, was shortlisted, interviewed and appointed because of her good work. Actually, Mathonsi is more than capable of leading the human resources department,” said Rossouw.
