Primrose community showered with festive season magic

The magic and love of Christmas shared with the Primrose community.

The Primrose community enjoyed a lovely Christmas drive, courtesy of Mamba Security recently.

This year’s Mamba Christmas Drive featured the company’s staff, Red Bin Brigade members, Emer-G-Med (Pty) Ltd and Primrose SAPS staff along with a number of community members.

Clad in fun costumes resembling fictional character, the guests gave out sweets to the children at various schools.

The festivities rolled in with a bang in Primrose, before heading to Edenvale, Bedfordview and Boksburg, with the drive sharing some magic with over 50 schools this year.

Little Eden, Kayla Veretnik (Miss Edenvale 2018), local celebrity Jacques Blignaut, the Edenvale City Improvement District and Hang Up Pictures, joined in all the fun.

Accompanied by blaring sirens, the group showed up at Totus Tuus Independent School, Little Fishes Nursery, Sparrow’s Nest, Lynn’s Pre-School, Laerskool Die President and Smiley Kids Primrose.

The organisers thanked Jods Hire Service for their sponsorship of 30 costumes and Promenade Costume Hire for sponsoring four costumes.

This year’s Mamba Christmas Drive brought animated characters to life when they visited over 50 schools in Germiston and surrounding areas.

They also thanked the following organisations for their generous donations and sponsorships:

• Cartoon Candy sponsored lollipops and chips.

• Flyerz.co.za for sponsoring 7 000 brochures.

• Morpha Dezign for sponsoring stickers.

• Cansa East Rand for their Tok Tokki Mascot.

• Digital Rapture for sponsoring raffle tickets.

• Venter Trailers for sponsoring two trailers.

• SPAR Karaglen for sponsoring boerewors rolls.

• Smoke House for sponsoring viennas and rolls.

• Harris Motors for sponsoring 2 000 petrol vouchers, 150 cold drinks, 150 packets of chips and 10 bags of ice.

Mamba also thanked, Metabo Power Tools SA, GWP Plastics CC, NuLaw Group, Edenvale Methodist Church, FSK Electronics, Regal Distributors, Shermanit, Elvey Security Technologies and Fi Tyres.

The sponsors totalled an amount of R25 000 raised for the Red Bin Brigade.

Hundreds of bins, filled with toys, clothing, blankets and food were collected.

Mamba also thanked everyone for purchasing a raffle ticket.

The ticket which cost only R10 put participants in line to win one year of free armed response, and an alarm kit, CCTV and many more awesome prizes.
