During the festive season the owner of a local second-hand goods shop situated on the corner of Mare and Van Riebeeck streets in Elsburg, fell victim to a business robbery.
“The owner alleged that after locking up in the evening, on December 22 last year, all was in order,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.
“On January 7, at about 10.30am, the complainant alleged that he received a phone call from his friend informing him of a break-in at his shop.
“He rushed to the shop and found that tools and electric appliances had been stolen.”
The incident was reported to the police and through investigation, one man, aged 35, was apprehended.
He is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon, to face charges of business burglary.
