Busy weekend for Katlehong North SAPS

Katlehong North SAPS continued their work as part of Operation Buya Mthetho.

Operation Buya Mthetho, which was recently launched by the Katlehong North police, continued to squeeze out criminals this weekend, with the arrest of 14 suspects.

The suspects were charged with various offences and a number of items were seized during the operation held between January 18 and 20.

Seized items included drugs, alcohol, a Toyota Etios and various minibus parts.

Among the suspects was a woman who was charged with drug possession after about 120 sachets, containing a substance suspected to be drugs, were found in her possession.

A 64-year-old woman was also arrested during the operation for dealing in liquor without a licence.

Other charges included driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of suspected stolen property, common assault, crime injuria, and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander Col Reginah Rampota congratulated the officers involved following the arrests.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
