Netcare 911 responds to tragic Germiston Lake lightning strike.
Netcare 911 paramedics were among the first to respond to the tragic incident at Germiston Lake, where a coach and rower were struck by lightning.

“Two people sustained injuries from a lightning strike at Germiston Lake on Saturday,” said Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare 911.
“Reports from the scene indicated that lightning hit the tree they were under.
“One person was found with moderate injuries and another was resuscitated by an advanced life support paramedic.”
Sadly despite the paramedic’s best efforts to save the man’s life he was declared dead on the scene.
“All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate,” said Herbst.
