Serious crimes tackled in Malvern East

Officers from the Primrose Police Station and members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk took to the streets of Malvern East to raise awareness about serious crimes affecting area.

According to reports from the Primrose police, robberies with aggravating circumstances remain high in Malvern East.

Crimes of concern to police include house robberies, hijackings and theft of motor vehicles.

To help raise awareness about these worrying trends, officers from the Primrose Police Station, assisted by members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, took to the streets, recently, to warn the community.

Approximately 400 safety tip flyers were distributed to the community during the door-to-door awareness campaign.

“We once again remind our community to invite their visitors to park inside their yards even if they stay for a short period of time,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Residents need to take every precaution to ensure they don’t make themselves vulnerable to crime.”

The youth desk members were thanked for their efforts.

“We hope the safety tips will help the community in times of need,” said Maome.
