Kick, punch and jump – Public aerobics marathon to be held in Germiston

Join in the fun at Germiston Lake and get fit.

Fitness fanatics in Ekurhuleni will flex and stretch their muscles to achieve physical fitness and wellness at the annual session of the metro’s “Fit For Free” aerobics session on Saturday (tomorrow) at Germiston Lake.

The “Fit For Free” aerobics programme is the metro’s flagship wellness programme for members of the community, and it is held annually.

This is dubbed “Fit For Free” because it gives the residents an opportunity to achieve physical fitness at no cost.

To complement this programme, the metro hosts three-hour aerobics sessions free of charge at various open spaces and stadiums across the metro every Saturday morning.

The success of this programme is due to the solid partnership the metro enjoys with community-based aerobics clubs, with over 30 clubs involved in the programme.

On the day, the programme is scheduled to start at 9am and end at noon.

Eighteen buses have been arranged to transport all interested participants to and from the venue.

The programme is open to participants of all age groups.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own food as only fruit will be served on the day.
