Extra donations added to pig competition’s fund-raising tally
The Germiston SPCA’s pig will be named soon.
Although the Germiston SPCA’s Name our Pig competition has closed, due to an unfortunate oversight by the Germiston SPCA, not all donations and name nominations were published in last week’s GCN.
Thanks to a number of unlisted donations the final figure raised by the fund-raising competition was R5 600.
Donations and name nominations were also received from the following people:
• Lianie Buitendag: R500: Valentine
• Q I Logistics: R2 000: Quilla
• Vernie: R250

“On behalf of the SPCA committee we take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported our Name our Pig competition,” said Lesley Ritky.
“We have raised R5 600 as a result of all your generous support.
“We will be drawing the winning name this coming week and the person who gave the suggested name will be contacted.
“We apologise for any delay in sending through the names of people or companies to the Germiston City News and acknowledging their donations.
“This was not intentional and it is vital that if anyone has not been recognised by Germiston and Bedfordview SPCA they should notify us and we will correct it as soon as possible.”
