Alert: Loadshedding moves to Stage Four

Download your loadshedding schedule and make provision for the power being off.

Due to continued pressure on the national grid, Eskom began implementing Stage Four loadshedding from 1pm today and is likely to continue until 10pm.

“Since this morning we have unexpectedly lost six additional generating units which have put additional strain on the system” Eskom said.

Customers are reminded to treat all electrical points as live during loadshedding.

Stage One requires 1 000MW, Stage Two requires 2 000MW, Stage Three requires 3 000MW and Stage Four calls for 4 000MW to be rotationally loadshed nationally at a given period.

When will your area be affected by load shedding.

Loadshedding is conducted rotationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system.

Eskom appeals to residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period.

Please switch off geysers, as well as all non-essential lighting and electrical appliances to assist in reducing demand.
