Primrose police arrested a 34-year-old man, last Thursday, for rape.
The alleged rape took place in the Makause informal settlement and was reported to the Primrose police by the victim.

“The victim told officers when opening the case she had been in her shack when the accused approached her and asked her to go and buy him some tomatoes,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“She went to get the tomatoes and when she arrived at his shack he allegedly grabbed her, dragged her inside, forced her onto the bed and raped her.”

Using the information given by the victim, police were able to trace and arrest the man.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
