Chief whip appeals for political tolerance
“The ANC is leading in promoting political tolerance when we campaign for elections and it will continue to provide leadership of tolerance,” he said.
The ANC head of elections in Ekurhuleni and chief whip of council, Jongizizwe Dlabathi, is appealing to all political parties to exercise maximum political tolerance ahead of the provincial and national elections on May 8.
The City Council has passed the law that allows all political parties to put up their posters, but there are rules and regulations legislated by the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) that governs the process of voter campaign by all political parties.

Dlabathi said after the elections all political parties must remove their posters within 14 days.
“However, ANC urges all political parties not to remove posters that belong to other political parties so we live up to a commitment that our elections are free, fair and tolerant and that everyone participates to the maximum,” he said.
