Tip-off leads to arrest, drugs worth R7 500

EMPD tackle drugs in Primrose.

Information provided by a reliable source and acted upon by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit yielded the arrest of a suspected Kat dealer.

The arrest and seizure took place at 10am, last Tuesday, and the drugs seized had a street value of R7 500.

“The given address on Poplar Road was pounced upon and after searching the house’s five rooms 25 ziplock bags of Kat were located hidden in a shoe in one of the rooms,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“A 27-year-old woman was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station where she was charged with possession and dealing in narcotics.”

She was expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
