Delivering his speech of appreciation, Denge said he lacked words to express the station’s gratitude for such dedication.
“I can’t find good words to express what it means to have such dedicated and unselfish people in our community who make the lives of the police officials easier by enabling them to work in a clean and happy environment,” said Denge.
Speaking on behalf of the volunteer, Kgomo from Woolf informal settlement said they are motivated by good treatment from the station.
“Since I started here four year ago, I have never been mistreated. They treat us with respect. They do not undermine us just because we are volunteers.
“Even though it is not easy to wake up in the morning everyday and come to work without remuneration, we are driven by love to do wht we do. We hope one day the police station will consider employing us because we are parents,” said Kgomo.
He thanked the police station for recognising the good work they are doing.

Communication official Capt Piet Rossouw said finding words to express their kind gesture is difficult.
“The fact that they know that the station has its own permanent cleaners but still insist on being here is amazing. We are blessed to have such dedicated people serving the police station,” said Rossouw.
Kathorus MAIL spoke to a member of the community, Ayanda Mathonsi, who at the time of the ceremony was at the station to certify her certificates. Ayanda said: “I have been using this police station services for years I have never found it dirty. It is actually the cleanest police station I know.”
