Two men, aged 33 and 35, were arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of house break-in and theft on Thursday.
The men were arrested in Marigold Road after the homeowner called police to the scene.

“The complainant alleged that he left his house to go to the shops nearby and when he returned, he saw one of the accused sitting in his yard,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“He immediately called the police, who responded quickly.”
Officers were able to corner the suspect in the yard, and while he was being questioned, a second suspect came out the house.

“The suspect attempted to escape, but was caught by police,” said Maome.
“During an inspection of the crime scene, it was discovered an electrical heater had been removed from a room and dropped in the yard.”
The men were detained at the Primrose Police Station and will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
Primrose SAPS station commander Col Albertina Vesi thanked the officers for responding so quickly.
