Germiston Scouts enjoy Kon-Tiki

The First Germiston Scout Group tackled the biggest scout gathering in Gauteng, Kon-Tiki 2019, last weekend.

The First Germiston Scout Group travelled to Benoni, last weekend, to take part in the biggest Scout gathering in Gauteng – Kon-Tiki 2019.

Kon-Tiki, named after Thor Heyerdahl’s expedition in 1947, is a competition for Scouts and Guides, and saw participants building rafts, using ropes, poles and barrels, which they spent 24-hours on competing in mobility and cooking competitions.

While those who were not on the rafts competed in activities like campsite construction and cooking.

The troop had a great time at the event.
