The Ekurhuleni District Germiston SAPS recently arrested two suspects for various crimes.
Members of the Germiston SAPS Crime Prevention Task Team held the intelligence driven operation in Railway Street, in the Germiston CBD.
They went to the flat in question where they found the two suspects.
Inside the flat the members found 148 boxes of cigarettes and more than R112 000 in cash.
The suspects could not present any documentation or invoices to prove why they had so many boxes of cigarettes in their flat.
The suspects then gave one of the members R3 000 as a bribe to leave and the members arrested the suspects immediately.
They then proceeded to search the rest of the flat and discovered a hand gun which was positively identified as having been stolen in Jeppe in 1999, as well as ammunition.
Also found was pieces of gold.
