Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested seven suspects during a stop-and-search operation, on Wednesday.

The operation was part of the police’s ongoing efforts to reduce crime in the area.
The accused were arrested for various offences.
Charges include:
• Rape: 1
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1
• Theft of a motor vehicle: 1
• Dealing in drugs: 1
• Possession of a stolen vehicle: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.
Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo thanked everyone who contributed to the successful arrests.
He further encouraged the community to play a part in curbing crime in the area.
