Nine nabbed in Katlehong

Katlehong SAPS targeted criminals during stop-and-search operation last Thursday.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Brig Sammy Thambo thanked the officers from the station’s Crime Prevention Unit for the efforts they’ve made in crime prevention.

Officers from the unit, with the help of detectives from Katlehong Police Station, arrested nine suspects during a stop-and-search operation last Thursday.

The accused were arrested for several different crimes.

Charges included:

• assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 5

• warrant of arrest: 2

• common assault: 1

• common robbery: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

The team plans to hold similar operations within their precinct in an ongoing attempt to curb crime in the area.
