The mayor reminded residents that every vote counts and urged them to exercise their democratic right.
Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Ald Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has urged residents to take their time when casting their ballots to ensure they understand the voting process and make informed choices.
Xhakaza cast his special vote on Monday, November 2, at the Wynand Marais Community Centre in Ward 15, Kempton Park.
He reminded voters that the two ballots serve different purposes.

He explained that the ward councillor ballot lists candidates alphabetically, while the proportional representation (PR) ballot lists political parties.
He encouraged voters to carefully check both ballots before marking their choices to avoid confusion and ensure their votes are correctly cast.
The mayor also called on all eligible residents to exercise their democratic right, emphasising that active participation is important in shaping a stable and effective municipal government.
