Rest-a-While members learn new skills
CT Hydraulics spends a morning teaching the members of Rest-a-While some new skills.
Germiston-based company CT Hydraulics believes in an holistic approach to community outreach programmes.
With this in mind, the company’s social development committee recently began the process of interviewing local charities.
Four charities, which are in line with the scope, outlook and integrity that CT Hydraulics holds dear, were chosen, and Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly was one of them.

The company stated, “We believe no man is an island, and therefore CT Hydraulics has chosen to reach out to the community by partnering with the goodhearted, enthusiastic board members of Rest-A-While, who are ready to make the lasting change that is needed in the Germiston local community.”
Though Rest-A-While already had outreach programmes in place, the team were open to suggestions to integrate and accommodate CT Hydraulics’ vision in bringing about lasting transformation.
“A team from the company spent a day with us recently,” said centre manager Trudy Carreira.
The team taught an enthusiastic group of members how to make herbal heat packs.
“The members had such a great morning,” said Trudy.
“Initiatives like this enable our members to find their self-worth within the community.”

Moving forward, CT Hydraulics plans to host a charity ball on September 14 to help raise money for the charities they support, including Rest-A-While.
“We have pledged to support the charity ball by selling tickets to the community,” said Trudy.
