While on patrol on Tuesday night at around 10pm, members of the Elsburg SAPS received a complaint from a Buhle Park resident urging the police to come and arrest a suspect for allegedly breaking and entering.
The caller furnished the officers with an address of a residence in the area.
Upon arrival, the police found one man in the house and after conducting a body search, he was found in possession of a firearm and live ammunition.

“The suspect had no firearm licence and the officers proceeded to search the entire house and found a second firearm underneath a pillow with nine rounds of live ammunition,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.
“We later discovered that the serial number of one firearm was filed off, while the other was linked to a robbery in Witbank.
“The suspect is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.”
