Several suburbs are still without water today (Wednesday), as local reservoirs are still being filled after a three-day water outage.

In a statement Rand Water said, “The larger part of the supply system that was affected by the O2 pipeline burst has recovered as was expected.
“There are, however, high-lying areas in Germiston such as Sunnyridge, Dawnview, Sunnyrock, Solheim, Symhurst, and parts of Gerdview and Primrose that are struggling to either recover or maintain a consistent water supply.
“Rand Water is, therefore, urging residents in low-lying areas who are already receiving water to use water sparingly to allow reservoir levels to improve.”

Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan said that no turnaround time has been given as to when the reservoirs will be filled.
“I have requested that water still be available at the Sunnyridge Circle for residents without water,” said Morgan.
“I know everyone is frustrated but unfortunately the flow of the water cannot be rushed.”
