Katlehong SAPS continues crime prevention efforts in their precinct

Katlehong police share their arrest successes.

Seven suspects were arrested during a stop-and-search operation in Katlehong last Wednesday.

The operation was carried out by members of the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The accused were arrested for various offences.

Charges included:

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1

• Common assault: 1

• Malicious damage: 1

• House break-in and theft: 2

• Theft of a motor vehicle: 2

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo thanked everyone who contributed to the successful arrests.

He further encouraged the community to work hand-in-hand with the police to eradicate crime in the area.

The arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
