Katlehong police arrest nine

Katlehong police arrested nine suspects during a routine patrol of their precinct.

During a recent routine patrol of their area officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit arrested nine suspects.

The arrested suspects were charged with several different offences.

Charges included:

• Rape: 2

• Common assault: 2

• Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1

• Arson: 1

• Crimean injuria: 1

• Possession of drugs: 1

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo was pleased with the arrests and urged the team to continue their efforts to curb crime in the area.
