It was a busy weekend for the Katlehong police, with 37 suspects being arrested between August 16 and 18.
The arrests were made by officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and officers of the EMPD.

The accused were charged with various offences.
Charges included statutory rape, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, business burglary, theft, business robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of a hijacked motor vehicle, shoplifting, reckless and negligent driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Brig Sammy Thambo was pleased with the arrests made over the weekend and called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
