No one plans to be hijacked, but in this day and age it is a reality the community cannot ignore.
Here are some top tips to prevent hijackings:
• Stay alert:
Be vigilant at all times and be aware of your surroundings.
• Space between vehicles:
Keep enough space between your car and others to avoid being trapped and an easy target for hijackers.

• Scout for danger:
Adopt a search pattern radius to scout before approaching your home.
• Suspicious vehicles:
If you are being followed, drive to the nearest public space, like a service station, shopping centre or police station. Don’t go home.
• Escape if you can:
Try to get away from the situation as soon as possible. Your life is worth more than your vehicle.
• Be seen and heard:
Should you see suspicious activity, hoot, scream, blow a whistle and try to attract as much attention as possible.
