Duo cornered and found with drugs in Sunnyridge

EMPD officers confiscated drugs worth more than R5 000.

Information received and swiftly acted upon by EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members recently led to the arrest of two men.

The arrest took place on the corner of Porter Road and School Avenue in Sunnyridge.

After the duo was cornered and frisked the officers uncovered 10 ziplock bags of crystal meth, seven Mandrax tablets and nine ziplock bags of Kat to the value of R5 150.

Cash amounting to R2 600 suspected to be the proceeds of illicit dealings were also found.

“The male suspects, aged 38 and 43 years old respectively, decided not to cooperate with officers during the exercise before they were incapacitated and marched to the Primrose Police Station, where they were charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances, as well as resisting arrest,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD media liaison officer.

“They are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.”
