Chaphole is the founding principal of the school since its opening in February 1991 until 2017.

The current school principal, Sengi Kubheka, said: “Mrs. Chaphole is still interested in what’s going on at the school as she is a very passionate person. At the event, learners performed different traditional dances and also poetry, some of which were dedicated to Chaphole.

A member of the school governing body (SGB) heading up the entertainment committee, Makhetha Mokoena, said to the learners: “In order for you to get where Chaphole got, you need to know that the future is in your hands. Take responsibility and never do what others do. Study hard and know what you want in life.”

Nomsa Tshabalala, an administrator at the school, said she was very thankful to Chaphole for always being there for her.

Chaphole said: “This is a happy day for me. I got to where I am now through determination and knowing myself. I want you as learners to know yourselves as it is the motto of the school.

Nothing can stop you from reaching your goals as long as you know what you want in life. You need to read and study in order to succeed in life. These days everything is free, including textbooks, so there is nothing stopping you from going to school, be persistent. Challenges should not make you run away from life, they should make you grow as you learn from them.”
