Man allegedly robbed by three men in Rietfontein Road

Primrose police arrest one man on a charge of common robbery and continue to search for two more linked to the crime.

While collecting plastic bottles in Rietfontein Road, last Saturday, a man was allegedly grabbed from behind by three men.

“The complainant told officers that one of the men grabbed him while another took his firearm and 18 rounds of ammunition and the third his wallet which contained his firearm licence, bank cards and R300 in cash,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The victim was able to escape and ran to the Primrose Police Station where he reported the incident.

“After a brief investigation officers arrested a 58-year-old man in connection with the crime,” said Maome.

“Police are still searching for the remaining suspects.”

The accused has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
