They are currently nominated in the Lake International Pan African Film Festival (LIPA) which will be in Nakuru, Kenya, from November 6 to 9.
They won at the Ekurhuleni International Film Festival at the Springs Theatre on June 21 to 23 for best director, best actress, and best actor after having been nominated in five categories, including best producer and best feature.
“We’ve been applying for funding for accommodation and flights. We have applied to different departments and we are not getting assistance. So we are currently asking for assistance from anyone who is able to help so we can go to Kenya. Yes, the film is ours, but now we are no longer representing Extreme Film and Music, we are representing the whole of South Africa, Ekurhuleni in particular.
“We need funding for accommodation and flights for two people, the director, and the producer. All in all the costs are roughly R50 000. We are confident that of the three categories we’ve been nominated for, there’s one if not all which we’ll bring back home,” said Sipho Dlamini producer Xolisa Mpafa.

According to Mpafa, the film industry is a great industry with a lot of job opportunities and the only bad thing about it is that there is no funding.
“Apart from the awards, we also wish to go there to network. We might make a deal with a company that might be willing to distribute for us, as distribution is also important in this industry. We are humbly requesting funding from those who can be able to assist us,” concluded Mpafa.
