Hospital spreads some cheer ahead of the festive season

Life Roseacres Hospital makes the festive season special for the staff and babies of El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety.

Life Roseacres Hospital pledged to support El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety in any way they could.

The pledge was made as part of the hospital’s Sizanani project, in August 2018.

“Each Life hospital has a Sizanani project, which they are dedicated to for three years.

“We, at Roseacres, have a passion for children, previously choosing to support Laerskool Die President, and so decided that El-Shammah was a great fit for us,” explained Karen Landsberg, the hospital’s marketing coordinator.

Since its inception, the partnership between the home and the hospital has blossomed.

“We aim to build lifetime partnerships with community organisations in our area,” said Landsberg.

Staff from the hospital showed their support for the home once again, last Friday, when they held a fun-filled year-end function.

“The Sizanani team, together with the consultative forum committee members, hosted a year-end party for the home’s managers, staff members and, of course, the babies,” said Landsberg.

“We had a chance to visit the home and engage with the staff members and spend time with the children.

“Together, we can make life better for the less fortunate and for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.”

Merencia Scholtz, who manages the home with her husband, Allistair, thanked the hospital for their continued support and for making the effort to come and spend time with the children in the organisation’s care.
