Women acknowledged for their contributions to their communities

Arabella Foundation holds high tea at Hirsch’s Meadowdale.

Hirsch’s Meadowdale recently hosted a high tea for the Arabella Foundation.

The event was well attended with 120 women settling in to enjoy an interesting day while celebrating heroines from the community.

The Arabella Foundation NPC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping children.

“The proceeds from the high tea will go towards purchasing menstrual cups with a 10-year life span for underprivileged girls,” said Chantelle du Plessis, public relations officer for Hirsch’s Meadowdale.

Bianca Grobler (third place), Mmatshepo Mojele (second place) and Sister Florence Matona were named as the winners for making excellent contributions to their communities.

Guest speakers and judges on the day were Edith Venter, an entrepreneur, author and philanthropist, Shamila Ramjawan, Mrs Johannesburg 2019 and Mooniba Bhayat of Dare to be Empowered.

The judges had the very difficult task of choosing the winners, as all the women who were nominated are making an excellent contribution to their communities.
