Primrose police were called to the Makause informal settlement last Sunday evening.

“The community nabbed a man they alleged stabbed and robbed another community member last Friday,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for Primrose police.
“The community took the man to the informal settlement’s sports field where they set him alight.
“The man died as a result.
“When police attempted to intervene they were attacked by members of the community.”

A case of murder was opened by the Primrose police following the mob justice incident.
However, no arrests have been made as yet.
