Minor airlifted and one dies in Primrose collision

Netcare 911's media liaison Shawn Herbst said their personnel responded to reports of a collision which resulted in one of the vehicles slamming into a tree.

One person died when two vehicles were involved in a collision on Hollyhock Avenue in Primrose, Germiston, at 7am on July 15.

“Medics assessed the scene and a male driver was declared died on the scene.

“A female minor passenger had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by paramedics from Emer-G-Med and Netcare 911.”

Herbst added due to the nature of her injuries, a helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the patient to hospital for further treatment.
