Primrose SAPS warned residents of Primrose and those who are visiting the area to be vigilant and extra careful when taking a taxi.
According to the police, a white Toyota Quantum mini bus with an unknown registration number has been going around Primrose robbing people who assume that it’s a taxi.
“This vehicle consists of seven men allegedly speaking Zulu. They take their victims to a spot where they will strip the victim of their valuables and leave them without anything,” said Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Styles Maome.
He urged the community to be vigilant.

“Our community should be careful before entering a taxi. They must check who is inside,” said Maome.
“We are also experiencing challenges with vehicles that look like Uber drivers. Young women are targeted, especially those walking alone. They rob them of cellphones and hand bags. We are encouraging women to walk in groups.”
