“My mother said that when I was younger, there were always signs that I will become a traditional healer,” said Khanyile.

Like most teenagers at the time he was in love with soccer and did not pay too much attention to his calling.

“As my calling got stronger I realised the need to go help people. Traditional healing is not about money but to give the gift of healing.”

It’s been 10 years since he started practising and he said he does not regret his decision.

“My teacher Xolile Mnqibisa nurtured me through my journey to the point where I was ready,” said Khanyile.

He believes traditional and western medicine can work hand in hand.

We must not forget that in the old days we used traditional medicine and seldom used doctors.”
