Primrose SAPS appealed to the community of Primrose, especially in the informal settlements, to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
This was after a man was suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death in Makause informal settlement.
“The suspect was tracked by residents of Makause and allegedly killed by pelting him with bricks. Police received a complaint and on arrival they found a 46-year-old woman lying in a pool of blood with a stab wound to her upper body.
“While attending to this, another report was received that the deceased’s boyfriend has been apprehended by angry residents of Makause and pelted with bricks about 500m from the initial scene,” said Maome.
Paramedics were summoned to the scene and both victims were declared dead.
“We appeal to the community not to take the law into their own hands,” said Maome.
