Larry Hales, from North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina had decided, on a whim, to go into a Han-Dee Hugo Store in Garner to cash in a $20 winning scratch-off ticket, while on his way to a dentist appointment in North Carolina. The scratch-offs that he had bought with the $20 winnings that he had cashed in, included a $10 Jumbo Bucks Ticket that he placed in his truck before going for his appointment. After his appointment, Hales had to go to the bank to deposit money after which he went to a drive-thru when he remembered about the scratch-offs that he had purchased. While in the line, he scratched them off only to find that the Jumbo Bucks ticket was the $750,000 winner. Upon seeing this, Hales had rushed home to show his wife so that she could verify the winning ticket. Both Hales and his wife had checked the ticket numerous times before they went to claim their prize. When asked what they intended to do with their winnings, Hale simply replied to say that they may consider buying a new car or even a new truck. As with numerous other winners, Hales is an example of people who are shocked and in disbelief when winning a grand pay-out as the purchase made was done absentmindedly without focussing on winning anything. In a lot of cases, there are numerous people who bet on events with no particular idea of the outcome while there are those who play with the intention to win. Regardless of the intention or thought behind it, it is always a good idea to keep an eye on drawings for the relevant event that, should a prize be won, it can be claimed within due time.
