Primrose police urged people with information about the concealment of a birth recently to come forward.
Primrose SAPS communications officer Sgt Styles Maome said a couple was looking for scrap metal near the corner of Cider and Almond roads, Primrose East, when they found a black refuse bag in a bush.
“When they checked it, they found the body of a baby inside the refuse bag. They rushed to a house nearby to seek help. The homeowner called the police.”

Maome added investigations started on the scene.
“Allegations were that witnesses saw a vehicle driving by and a woman got out with the refuse bag and threw it in the bushes.”
