Suspect behind bars for possessing a stolen vehicle

Police recovered a white Toyota Tazz at Sam Ntuli Mall in Katlehong on March 9.

The Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 30-year-old African male for possessing a stolen vehicle in Katlehong on March 9.

Police were conducting a normal patrol when they saw a suspicious-looking white Toyota Tazz parked with a driver inside at Sam Ntuli Mall in Katlehong.

According to Katlehong SAPS corporate communications officer Capt Mega Ndobe, the police requested to search the driver and later discovered the vehicle was reported stolen on Tuesday morning in Katlehong.

The vehicle was taken to Van Ryn Deep in Benoni for further investigation.

The suspect was arrested for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle. He is expected to appear in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
