Nkabati embraces her new journey

“I’m birthing me through Mosadi.”

Primrose resident Nkabati Shezi is making an impact on young girls through her work, and she said she is only getting started.

The mother of three entered Mrs South Africa last year and made it to the finals.

“I did not get the crown, but I found myself and my power and that was so precious to me.

“The whole journey reignited a spirit inside of me that has been dormant for some time.

“When I entered, the aim was to inspire the girls I mentor and other women to reach for their dreams. I’m also living my dream and I live every day to my full potential,” said Nkabati.

Since the pageant, Nkabati left her automation and engineering job to pursue her other dreams.

“It was time for me to move to the next chapter of my life, and it has been amazing how many young women I have been able to touch and work with,” said Nkabati.

She will be launching her single Mosadi (woman), which was a poem, and she has also been announced as a finalist in Mrs Universe Africa.

“I have always wanted to be in the entertainment industry but did not know how to go about it.

“I wrote a poem called Mosadi 10 years ago when I was finding myself but felt I was not ready to perform it.

“Through this pageant, I discovered how strong I am and remembered why I wanted to be in the entertainment industry,” said Nkabati.

She said Mosadi is dear to her because of what it means.

“I’m birthing me through Mosadi.

“Because the old me died, I’m ready for what I was destined for.

“More importantly, Mosadi is about every woman who has been through the most in life.

“We have different experiences that have put us in places we didn’t want to be in.

“But we always push through.

“Through Mosadi I want to empower women and say take your power back,” said Nkabati.
