The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) recently attended to a Sunnyridge sewage leak, which affected local businesses on Koedoe Street.
GCN reported last week that a burst sewage pipe on the same road affected businesses and was creating health issues.
Deon Venter, a business owner in the area, said the leaking sewage had a negative impact on his business.

“As a food outlet, we are affected by the sewage negatively. It impacts the number of customers coming to the business,” Venter told GCN.
“For the past two years, it has burst several times. We have reported the problem, but it hasn’t received any attention from the municipality.”
CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said: “The water leak has been fixed.
“The consumers are reminded to report complaints directly to the city’s call centre on 0860 543 000 or via the My COE app so that it can be attended to.
“Sewer blockages are common to every sewer reticulation network, but we reduce the occurrence through proactive maintenance,” said Dlamini.
