WATCH: Siluma shutdown returns in Palm Ridge
This year's event will host some of the biggest names in the music industry, including the likes of Big Zulu, Kwesta, Heavy K, Yanga Chief, Boohle, MFR Souls and Rashid Kay among others.

One of the prominent year-end events in Katlehong has returned with a thrilling line-up after it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
This year’s event will host some of the biggest names in the music industry, including the likes of Big Zulu, Kwesta, Heavy K, Yanga Chief, Boohle, MFR Souls and Rashid Kay among others.
After six years of Siluma shutdown, the event has printed its mark in Katlehong and the organisers are looking to expand the brand in neighbouring communities.
The event will take place at Isolomzi Conference Centre in Palm Ridge and for the first time in six years, locals will be charged an entrance fee.
The event organiser and founder of Siluma Shutdown Xolani Machele said the event is usually held on the last day of the year.
He initiated the event for people to enjoy and have fun within their community which made it much safer and easier to get home after the event.
How is this year’s event different from the previous ones?

Although Siluma Shutdown usually brings out some of the top artists, it always has a headliner, this year’s event is no different but just bigger.
“The event we are doing is exciting because I partnered with Luvo Golden to make the event stronger. The mission is to ultimately host Katlehong Shutdown in the next coming months so this is like a build-up to that, we are testing the market, that is why we have a heavy line-up,” said Machele.
