Safety tips
• Always be on the lookout for suspicious-looking pedestrians loitering at interactions and traffic lights.
• Keep a good following distance while driving and when stopping check the vehicle behind you.
• Drive with closed windows and locked doors at all times.
• Never pick up a hitchhiker.
• Never stop for a seemingly injured person lying in the road when you are alone. Rather go to the nearest police station to report or call for help.
• Do not park outside the yard, park your vehicle inside and lock the gate.
• When at a shebeen or tavern, do not leave your keys unattended or on the table.
• Park in well-lit areas, even at the garages or gas stations.
• Always ensure your car is in good running condition and have enough fuel to avoid visiting the garage, especially at night.
• When visiting amusement spaces like taverns or shebeens, check your car for any unknown passengers before you get inside.
