Soccer Mommies Tournament unites community

“Special thanks to our lovely parents for their tireless support since it was established,” said Ntlemeza.

Coach Veli Ntlemeza (30) of Takers Football Club recently hosted the Soccer Mommies Tournament to unite the community in Hlahatsi Section, Katlehong.

Tournament results

• The first game started with Hlahatsi Peacemakers Ladies punishing Takers FC Ladies 2-1.

• Soccer Mommies Team A won 4-2 against Team B.

• The third match saw Takers FC boys crush Hlahatsi Peacemakers boys 3-1.

• Old Crocks green team won 1-0 against the orange team.

• The last game was an exciting encounter between Soccer Mommies and their children. Soccer Mommies lost by 4-0.

The initiative aimed to promote the delivery of sports towards building an active and winning nation that equitably improves the lives of the community.

Event organiser Ntlemeza said he hopes to host the event annually because it is one of the most important initiatives that bring the community together.

“This is the first event where parents of soccer players unite and play soccer,” said Ntlemeza.

Hlahatsi Peacemakers Ladies.

“The event was packed before 12:00, with Old Crocks asking for game time in our programme as they also would like to have their match as well,” he added.

He thanked Hlahatsi Peace Makers and Tshepo Hope and Thabo Gen Dealer for helping and supporting the event.
