The first Virtual Nappy Run has been launched by the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), in collaboration with Alpha Pharm Pharmacies, South Africa’s largest independent pharmacy group.

The countdown to the 2021 Virtual Nappy Run, which will take place from November 1 to 14, has begun.

Most organisations’ productivity and functionality have been impacted by the pandemic, and the NCPD is no exception.

NPOs have seen a considerable drop in nappy donations from previous years.

As a result, the demand for nappies is greater than ever, and the call for society to be informed and educated about the plight of children with disabilities is louder than ever.

During the campaign, run from October 1 to December 3 NCPD and Alpha Pharm will aim to develop public education and awareness around International Day for Persons with Disabilities.

The campaign coincides with Children’s Rights Month in October and Disability Rights Awareness Month in November.

Registrations for the Virtual Nappy Run will be open until the last day of the event on November 14.

Donations can be made from a safe and secure PayFast portal via credit card or EFT.

Any amount of donation will be accepted to accommodate all donors who wish to show courage and kindness for this year’s Virtual Nappy Run.
