Primrose musician aims to inspire

A Primrose musician wants people to take note of his talents behind the microphones as a musician.

Thamsanqa Sibanda, popularly known as Takilla The Healer, is passionate about the music industry.

From entertaining others with his rap at the back of the class to performing his rap music behind a mic, Sibanda argues he has the necessary talent to succeed.

“My school friends inspired me to do music. Rap was just our thing, every spare moment we had we would just get into it, beatboxing and freestyling,” said Sibanda.

“It’s almost seven years since I started writing lyrics and now I am a recording artist. I rap in various languages including Sesotho, isiZulu, Sepedi and English.”

The hip-hop artist said American rapper Lil Wayne played a pivotal role in shaping his career, as he drew inspiration from his music.

“Lil Wayne was that person whom I always understood. When he raps I grasped everything he was saying. He was rapping about real stuff at a real-time.”

Takilla looks forward to next touring restaurants and getting his first gigs to expand his fan base and connect with people on a more personal level.

“My music is online, on Sound Cloud. I have listeners from Japan and other countries overseas. I am releasing a new song every week and have released Over and No Money,” said Sibanda.
