Two found guilty of armed robbery

Station commander for the Cleveland SAPS Col Motaung commended Mocheke for his work on the case.

The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court recently handed down hefty sentences to two accused of an armed robbery which occurred in December.

The court sentenced 21-year-old Philani Mkhize and 15-year-old Khulani Xaba to 15 and 10 years respectively for their roles in the Marathon Street robbery.

Mkhize was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and four years suspended for five years. Xaba received a 10-year sentence, with a five-year suspended sentence.

The investigation officer, Det Sgt Mocheke from the Cleveland SAPS, followed through with his investigation until sentencing.
