Germiston SAPS acknowledges taxi industry for assisting during unrest

Germiston SAPS hosted an appreciation ceremony at the station for the Germiston Taxi Association on December 9.
The event was to present members of the taxi association with certificates for the action they took during the national unrest in July and when they stepped up to help protect businesses in the Germiston area.

“The association was there to help protect our businesses and prevent looting and vandalism. They started an initiative that made a difference in the community, and we support them,” said Lembe.

She added the Germiston Taxi Association stepped up to support the SAPS to protect businesses.

“This must not end here. We must continue to fight crime in our vicinity, together,” said Lemba.
Chairperson Khulekani Nkosi of Germiston Taxi Association thanked the Germiston SAPS for the appreciation certificates.
The association’s members received certificates and T-shirts, in partnership with Germiston Cash and Carry.
