Dreamville FC lifts KALFA Ladies’ Tournament trophy
“Our plan for the club is to work hard to play in the Hollywood League and other big tournaments in different provinces,” said Motshweneng.
Dreamville FC was crowned champions of the first annual KALFA Ladies’ Tournament, in partnership with FBS FC, at Somhlolo Soccer Ground on December 12.
Dreamville’s victory in the tournament follows its 4-2 win in the final match against Thembalethu FC.
Onthatile Phatlane scored the first goal, Simphiwe ‘Captain Fantastic’ Skosana extended the lead and Mahlatsi Motshabi closed it off with a brace.
The head coach of Dreamville FC, Lebohang Motshweneng, said the competition was tight and the teams they played against kept them on their toes.
“I expected us to win the tournament because we prepared ourselves for it since last month. I am happy for my players. They have done an amazing job.
“Our plan for the club is to work hard to play in the Hollywood League and other big tournaments in different provinces,” said Motshweneng.
Coach Ndumiso Mpembe of Thembalethu FC said the tournament was a good initiative. Although they did not win, they enjoyed it.

The chairperson of FBS FC and sponsor of the tournament, France Madonsela, said the purpose of the tournament was to give back to the community and uplift women football in Katlehong, as this is the first tournament to be hosted for the women’s league in Katlehong.
“It will be held every year for the women of Katlehong and will present opportunities to the teams. I will boost their talent, as the tournament is all about uplifting women’s football,” said Madonsela.
